Figures are worse now - what is the wiring setup?
If the 35dB attenuation is correct you are getting about half the speed you should be

As MrSaffron says your stats are worse than before which is not typical after removing the ring wire. Any chance of a link to photos of your phone socket internals?
You seem to be on ADSL2+ already. I guess your exchange has been upgraded or you are already on Be.

I am about 6 kilos away from Gants Hill.
When I started with ADSL24 they were reselling Entanet. Then they told me they were stopping that and changing to Murphx.
The standard packages they sell are all called Home something, and I am on Home 30. The LLU are all called Premium something or C+W something.
I suppose the Home ones are Murphx and the C+W ones are Cable + Wireless. Someone said they resell Be, which must be the Premium ones.

If 6km then downstream attenuation is more likely to be 63dB, which fits the sync and upstream attenuation. i.e. router is giving a wrong figure

To answer your question about how to get a faster line, as you're on the Gants Hill exchange, you should have FTTC by next March which will give up to 40Mbps. You ought to see a big speed improvement as you're unlikely to be very far from the nearest cabinet in Redbridge.
Others can post details of the various ISPs offering service, I use BT Infinity and get just under 40Mbps.

That's only the case if their cab is upgraded - and I understand that isn't always the case with FTTC.
Seems trying a different router would be good to check out if that attenuation is correct. If the OP can borrow something like a netgear dg834 (or similar) then that could be good to check the figures.

Have you checked the router stats with it plugged directly into the test socket? It's possible that the extension could be causing issues. I'm assuming that the blue/yellow and yellow/blue wires of the extension are a pair within the extension cable (ie they are twisted around each other within the cable)?

I plugged it into the test socket and got the same stats.
