What modem do you have?

I would suggest trying another modem, to see what happens to the stats. The attenuation for up and down are wrong, and if its a router bug it may be affecting how it syncs.

Cannot find another modem.

I think the solution is to go to Be.

There is a place on the ADSL24 site where they give an estimate of the bandwidth they can provide for my phone number. They say 9Mb. This, when the advertised speed is up to 24 Mb.

On the corresponding place on the Be site they say 6Mb.

Be have a 12Mb offering, which is cheaper than ADSL24. Why should I ask for 24Mb when they say they can't get anywhere near that? Also, Be will give me a new modem, which ADSL24 do not do.

On the ADSL24 site there are a load of buttons that allow you do do stuff like see your usage history etc. There is a button for asking for your MAC, but it is disabled. Are they making it difficult for me to get my MAC?

It seems that the only way to do this is to raise a ticket, whatever that means.

A "ticket" is jargon for a "support request" via the ISP's online system, or possibly raised by them as a result of a phone call or email from you.

I see no sense at all in buying Be through a third-party unless the goodies such as included web space and email matter. Be do not include either, but in any case ISP-provided email and web space I consider more hassle than they are worth.

Free or cheap email that never needs your address changing is much more sensible. See my ISP-independent web/email page.

I asked them, via a ticket, for my MAC. I could not find any other way to do it. They say they look at tickets within 72 hours.

Well they have five working days to supply the MAC from the time you submitted the ticket.

That's their problem, not yours.

Your contract is with them and they are responsible for supplying the MAC to you within that period.

AAISP supply MACs within seconds of an online request. Newnet within 20 minutes. Go figure.

Also should be two ways of being able to obtain the MAC.
