Re: ISP In Leeds

Looks like your best bet is get a line in asap, like you said originally. Then the number is bound to tell us, after a couple of days, as that's the usual minimum for the BT database to adjust to the new end location from its previous user's. (Though I expect the exchange would be guaranteed - I'm not sure).

Remember what I said about the £30 install if you are going to be there that long. Otherwise my suggestions below may be worth looking at for the phone as well. Vivaciti certainly allow you to have other ISPs on the line. I don't know about xilo/uno.

Sky Connect is a disaster area, like O2 Access. Do not go there.

Have you seen the Plusnet shaping tables, though from your usage description they may be OK.

What is the other exchange? As I said, there could be good LLU options that you don't know about. There certainly are on the main one you gave. Have a look at the vivaciti LLU Unlimited and LLU 75GB and the same underlying services from xilo/uno, Pro 16 and 24. Note that the 16 is not limited to 16Mbps, but from what you say that is probably irrelevant. Also on the xilo/uno note that one is inc vat, the other two are ex Vat.

I have a feeling the 75GB options have better ping, but I may have that the wrong way round. I suggest if interested you ring both of them and have a chat.

The Surfwise Complete on vivaciti is via Opal Wholesale, so is Full LLU like TalkTalk. Xilo/uno also sell the Opal Wholesale but it isn't on their website yet.

My broadband basic info/help site - www.robertos.me.uk
My domains, website and mail hosting - Tsohost. Internet connection - O2 Standard.
