ADSL Max vs Max Premium

Im curently on a rural market 1 exchange that suffers from congestion in the evening/weekends as you can see from the graph. I am currently on an adsl max products. I am considering switching to a Max Premium product with its traffic priotitisation. Does anyone know how much difference this is likely to make?

Are you sure it is the exchange rather than the ISP that has congestion? I think exchanges usually get upgraded if they are consistently congested.

Mine has seen a lot of red and amber recently. Currently its amber.
My current ISP is ADSL24 -

quite a bit, the minimum speed spec doubles

I'd say its worth it if you need faster upload speeds, would help with ping times for online gaming and faster picture uploads if you share a lot on Flickr.

In that case the Max Premium should give a bit of help, but beyond my ken to quantify it. The Max Premium prioritises within BT systems, which is where you are until you get to the handover point to ADSL24. Or at least to the underlying wholesaler - Murphx?

There can also be congestion at that handover if the underlying provider doesn't rent enough capacity off BT Wholesale.

What's the expected fix date? What exchange is it anyway?

The increase you would probably get in upload sync and speed is of course a consideration, but not the main one.

The exchange is Aberystwyth - WNAE. Its currently amber - no eta. We have a high student population here - not sure if that helps or not!

Generally when i've done a bt speedtest before its shown degraded performance across the bt newtwork (the bit where you change your router login)

Im tempted to try it for a month and see what happenes - if it makes a difference ill stick with it.

Looking at was is, (or rather isn't!), available there, if it's only a short commitment then definitely worth a try.
