Which FTTC isp?

I've been with BE for the past 3 years and have been happy with the service I've received. It's not quick but it's miles better than any BT20cn connection that I could get.
I'm averaging a 2300KIbs/650Kbs sync

My exchange (THBW) is due to be upgraded to FTTC next month and our Cab looks like it is being done at the moment. BE have been very quiet on what their plans are so I'm looking to move.

The majority of my usage is evenings (xbox live/surfing and downloading) with a small amount of surfing during the day. I rely on my upload speed and having the 7Mbs that the infinity checker promises would be really nice.

I'm looking for suggestions on who to look at, I'm considering AAISP but would welcome other suggestions

Depends on your current and possible download volumes.

I'm considering IDNet Lite and Plus, or even the dreaded Infinity. MAC in hand!

With your usage pattern AAISP may work. It's the peak time costs there that are the drawback for most, but off-peak allowance is good and the night-time is effectively unlimited.

I'm in the same boat, my cab is ready now, and will go live in march, idnet look best so far with the unlimited upload that sways me.

What about BT Infinity?

I'm in a very similar situation and other than the "It's BT" factor (and I'm not sure how much of that is rational and how much is brand snobbery) they do appear to have the best offer for a reasonably open service.

IDNet and AAISP look the next best options. I used to be with AAISP and as much as I rate them as an ISP, I just can't think of a more frustrating ISP to find yourself at home in the daytime unexpectedly with a 30mbps internet connection that you daren't use.

How about Vivaciti. Their peak is 8am to 8pm for FTTC, £30.90 for 45Gb peak. Price link.
Don't know whether it is important for you but there may be some P2P and newsgroup shaping according to their forum.

Certainly if upload is your thing Idnet is great with it being unlimited.

I've considered Infinity, I suppose I'm just so used to dealing with BTs incometence that the thought of using them again fills me with dread!!

I don't need a static IP, I don't do P2P but do use http newsgroups.
