Thanks guys for all the feedback, I tested my line on the Sky website and it said it was capable of around 14meg.

Not sure if it's accurate, anyway I made up my mind considering the broadband, I'll go for BE 12Meg. Now I need to figure out if I get BT to reactivate my line or BE to install a new one. I guess that will depend on the price of the installation. I will have to call them as the website is not clear about what I need to do.

You can get £30 installation from BT if you take an 18-month contract for the line, and Be Broadband can run on that. I think you have to make 2 calls per month on the line, but they can be in the free periods.

I would advise the OP to think very carefully about BE Landline
When compared with BT pricing particualrly when add-ons are taken into consideration, BT will likely be cheaper
