Telephone master socket is on top floor where router is currently sitting. I want to know whether the BT home hub3 or the plusnet WNR1000 router is better in older houses where walls are thicker?

Is it possible to connect close to master telephone socket and then run a longer lead so that router can be on the floor below of even better 2 floors below or does this affect connectivitiy and speed?

Get a Netgear DGND3700 N600 - I had brought it last week and increase my ADSL2+ speed from 13 Meg to 16.3 Meg on wifi with 300Mbps as this router will accepted DSL, Cable and Fibre all in one! It had gigabit lan too with dual band wi-fi 300+300Mbps with 2.4 and 5.0 GHz. My old router is not very good on wifi and very poor on ADSl2+ only 13 Meg are Netgear DG834N Rangemax router.

Hi thanks for advice. I have just connected a few hours ago to plusnet and they provided the netgear N150 router. I assume your N600 is a better one - is it worth investing in instead of the N150?

N150 seem ok as long Plusnet give you free! But N600 is best router than N150 because N600 is a premium high performance!
