To be honest I don't download much now a days, but I would like to be able to use the online service of lovefilm or netfilx if I could!

Is vivaciti a good ISP? I don't mind paying a bit more for good and reliable service.

I reckon so, yes.

You can only get their Home Allowance and Office Allowance packages though at the moment, until TalkTalk kit is there. Then they have a few more options.

And do you think I should get better than 1Mb in the evenings? or can it be just due to my exchange?

See this exchange status link. It isn't gospel, but a good indicator.

The packages you can get form vivaciti are all monthly contract anyway, so a safe punt.

Past tense, because (a) I think (not 100% sure) he ended up sticking with DSL in the end (b) the blog isn't there at the moment and any relevant stuff doesn't appear to be Googlecached.

Back in October 2010 there was also talk of a WiMax trial for 300 homes on the South West side of the island from comedy ISP H2O Networks/FibreCity/i3 or whatever they were called at the time:

I believe they concentrating in areas that qualify for the Welsh broadband scheme, always under 2mbps. Worth giving them a try though, they are quick to respond with emails also they use fibrespeed network. I know of the chairman and he does have long standing interst in Welsh business.

As for TT, they have not met some LLU dates in Mid and West Wales they had planned for the back end of last year and looks they have been shelved! as they have been removed from sam knows.
