21CN WBC status: Enabled

my exchange at new romney is 21cn wbc enabled.

Does this have any bearing on broadband services from this exchange?

Depends who you buy it from.

If LLU, then no. If not, you need to wait for your ISP to let you know. If BT, then probably yes.

rang vivaciti today and they say any line over 4km from the exchange is unlikely to gain any advantage, may even suffer a loss of speed

What are the current stats, their estimate of line length may be wrong.

You would gain upstream speeds, i.e. faster uploading pictures to facebook etc

The loss of speed can be mitigated, and should not normally happen.

The downstream attenuation of your line will give us an idea what sort of speed increase you might get from ADSL2+ providing the line isn't too long.
