Ah, I see. Not that it really excuses them still offering 'Unlimited' broadband with no mention of the changes on the signup pages other than the usual vague mention of a FUP. Who is going to look at that when till now, a FUP has centred around heavy P2P use at peak times, not total use.
This is typical of a B.T. company and echoes the old B.T. 'Unlimited' broadband with a secret 100Gb limit. To be fair, 100Gb is enough for most even in this age of the iPlayer, if only we had fair advertising.

I suggest you talk to the ASA, as they have rewritten the definition of 'unlimited'

Well it's you that doesn't seem to be aware of reality, and so wrongly advising the OP.
The ASA and OfCom are have repeatedly shown they are happy with "unlimited" not meaning that. You are the one out of step. As for saying Andrew is splitting hairs about This is typical of a B.T. company and echoes the old B.T. 'Unlimited' broadband with a secret 100Gb limit I'm not even sure what you are on about.
The Post Office has never belonged to BT for one thing, and the FUP we are discussing is nothing whatsoever to do with BT. So your clever crack is doubly baffling. All I can think is that quote and your splitting hairs remark just bitterness from someone who has convincingly lost the argument.
You imply you are with the PO. I look forward to your exceeding 100GB after 1 June then taking them to court when they reprimand you .

So you do not remember the old Post Office Telefones company. If they decide to split into a group, it's one and the same to me. Just the same as Royal Mail and the Parcel service pretending to be seperate companies. In my book all the same pond.
My point was, that as well as being all the same group in my book, Post Office Broadband is a B.T. White Labal product totally managed by B.T. and therefore like the likes of Plusnet will always be limited by B.T.
Any amount of unfair or shifty contracts, of for that matter anything the ASA are happy to accept, can no way alter the dictionary definition of 'Unlimited'. I certainly will not be ordered to think otherwise, and suspect if a disagreement over unlimited ever reached court, others may well agree with me. I therefore don't know what you are talking about with regard to "losing an argument". If you cannot liken a 100gb B.T. managed product to the old 100gb B.T. service, I don't see that amounts to me having a problem. Why do forum cleverdicks always have to get nasty and personal? It's no wonder those of us that wont put up with it fly off the handle.
It is well documented here that I left the P.OO. service long ago.

Given you call Post Office and BT part of the same group I presume you pay no heed to the Openreach, BT Wholesale and BT Retail distinctions?
The BT Wholesale white label service has whatever fup level the reseller decides to buy, and it does not have the traffic management that Plusnet have on their products, which is different to what the BT Total products have.

I pay heed to the whole caboodle. As far as I am concerned, if you are not unbundled, you are at the mercy of B.T. in one guise or another. Don't get me wrong, I would never again sign up with the likes of Sly or Taktalk unbundled or not. All of which leaves little choice for an antagonist like me, though if it were not for the long 18 month tie-in, I know where I would be. So for me, it is hopping between ISPs with no tie-in. Now considering Freeola, not the cheapest I know, but very good off-peak times (7.00 p.m and all weekend) and lots of apparently happy customers.

So you do not remember the old Post Office Telefones company. If they decide to split into a group, it's one and the same to me. Just the same as Royal Mail and the Parcel service pretending to be seperate companies. In my book all the same pond. I probably remember it far better than you do. Your grasp of the facts seems to be somewhat tenuous. To save a lot of typing, I'll quote Wiki about BT. The Post Office Act of 1969 led to the GPO becoming a public corporation. British Telecom was formed in 1980, and became independent of the Post Office in 1981. British Telecom was privatised in 1984, with more than 50 per cent of its shares sold to investors. The Government sold its remaining stake in further share sales in 1991 and 1993.
BT has a primary listing on the London Stock Exchange and is a constituent of the FTSE 100 Index. Absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with the Post Office in terms of being parts of the same group. My point was, that as well as being all the same group in my book Wrong, see above. Post Office Broadband is a B.T. White Labal product True. totally managed by B.T and therefore like the likes of Plusnet will always be limited by B.T. Not true. Any amount of unfair or shifty contracts, of for that matter anything the ASA are happy to accept, can no way alter the dictionary definition of 'Unlimited'. I agree, and I'm quite sure you have seen me say so many times, until I got bored. I certainly will not be ordered to think otherwise, and suspect if a disagreement over unlimited ever reached court, others may well agree with me. La-la land. I therefore don't know what you are talking about with regard to "losing an argument". Try reading what I said again. You appeared to be going away in a sulk because no-one agreed with you. If you cannot liken a 100gb B.T. managed product to the old 100gb B.T. service, I don't see that amounts to me having a problem. Your not understanding the difference is your problem. Why do forum cleverdicks always have to get nasty and personal? It seems to be you doing that. It's no wonder those of us that wont put up with it fly off the handle. Speak for yourself. It is well documented here that I left the P.OO. service long ago. I hardly think your IPS progress is "documented" on these forums, any more than anyone else's. Or are you so essential to all our presence here that you expect us to follow your every word. The only obvious documentation is that your ISP is currently Plusnet. Is that still the case?
