In reply to a post by Mayrhofen:
Would I be right in thinking then that would explain why we rarely see 1mb these days as we have been moved automatically to ADSL2+. The drop in download speed occured at the same time as the upload speed increased?
Very probably. (You didn't tell us it used to connect faster tongue).

If you scroll down to the bottom of this page it tells you how to get the fiull line stats from the Netgear. Though all we need to know that you didn't include in your opening post is whether it is connecting on ADSL2+ or ADSL2.

If it is on ADSL2+ then you can force it down to ADSL2, which should give you back better download speed and keep the higher upload.

That's great but not really any good news there.

Some of it is the ordinary stats, which you have. On Netgears you can't always trust it when it says Fast (Path), as it always reports the upstream setting, which usually is Fast. But the line D: 1 1 shows it is Fast Path in both directions.

It says ADSL2, not 2+, so the only other alternative is to try ADSL. I think you should ask Namesco to try that. Though I don't really expect it to help. What speed did you used to get, before the upstream increased?

Remember for highest speed always connect during daylight smile.

Edit - have you checked through my Troubleshooting section, particularly the Ring wire and Miscellaneous nasties pages?
