....... O2 stopped doing unlimited deals a while ago but given i was on old tariff, I have just kept rolling on and on and hence still on old tariff.....

Can I ask how much traffic you're shifting?

O2 legacy tariffs are supposed to be unlimited without a FUP limit or throttling, unless you are really overdoing it, in which case you will probably run into the same trouble elsewhere.

If you are on one of the legacy (Unlimited) o2 packages that are not available to new customers, then they shouldn't be e-mailing you about usage at all,

unless you are shifting terabytes every month and that use was causing local congestion at your exchange,

Or they have sent the e-mail out in error, have you spoken to them regarding this e-mail ?

Well according to O2 I am impacting on the local exchange, but i have seen no figures to back this up, the stats they have given me are as follows:

Jan = 147.47GB (which to be honest it what i'd expect on average)
Feb = 59.03GB
Mar = Zero (yea i know Zero, which i know is BS as i stream iplayer stuff on the TV)
April = 258GB Now April could have been higher but to be honest i doubt that figure as well as PC was in bit for a good few days while i rebuilt it, and when it goes back together downloading is the last thing i worry about.

Does anyone know how i can get hold of my old contract with them, i joined them on 2nd Oct 2009

Interesting. That's not the most excessive usage ever... clearly O2 have no plans to invest in their network and are running it into the ground now. Perhaps they are kicking off a few heavy users on the exchange so they don't need to upgrade ... or perhaps so they can downgrade as user numbers are no longer high enough and they can't justify it?!

Sky and BT are both now totally unlimited
BT had a 300gb FUP but have removed this now

Sky do not slow down torrents etc though

Both require you to take phone line though

OK thanks ukhardy07 i'll contact them now and see what the deal is

Hi
and if you are going to sign any contract I would definitely consider doing it through topcashback as some are giving serious cashback.

That's hardly excessive at all if you ask me, barely moderately high.

Remember BT's old FUP was 300GB per month, and you had to exceed it several times repeatedly before getting your speed capped, VM's is around 350GB, on BT Business (Fibre) 100GB is the lowest cap you can have.
