Re: Need an ISP recommendation in Edinburgh

It's got more complicated, in any event. Be advised me that I'd have to contact BT to get them to re-activate the line. BT then told me that because I'd be paying line rental to Be, it would be them that would have to re-activate the line (using an Openreach engineer, obviously). I then phone Be back and they told me that this wasn't the case, but this time round they made me aware that I had a choice between BT and the Post Office with regards to having the line re-activated. I've since phoned the Post Office and they are going to re-activate the line for me, at a cost of £60 rather than the £130 or so that BT were going to charge. When this is done - I'm expecting a call back from the Post Office later today - I'll got back to Be and sign up for their broadband service.

God bless Margaret Thatcher and deregulation!

Sounds like shortcomings in Be's ordering system from Openreach.

Post Office phone is apparently fine. Also I think it is a monthly contract, so easy to move to LLU or other forced bundle in the future.

Domains,website and mail hosting - Tsohost. Connection - Plusnet Extra Fibre (FTTC). Sync ~ 56.0/13.9Mbps @ 600m.
