How sticky do you need it to be?
Services like DynDNS negate most of the negatives of dynamic, which if you leave your router connected usually lasts days or weeks with most providers anyway

Plusnet seem to have a policy that they won't do anything unless there are more than 12 disconnections a day. I'd be happy with a connection if it lasted for weeks.

Yes, sticky depends on how an ISP runs its network
The length of time that an ADSL connection lasts depends on how stable the ADSL line, nothing to do with the ISP recyclign and re-issuing an IP address.
if your ADSL is rock solid and stays synced for 6 months, you should keep the same IP address even in the worst case where an ISP changes the IP address every time you authenticate.
What is the actual reason for needing a sticky ip?

Thanks. How can I find out details of this?
For example looking at New Call Telecom Ltd, but they don't seem to have a contact us page on their website.
What is the actual reason for needing a sticky ip?
I'm getting fed up with having to sign in to forums each time my connection drops.

"I'm getting fed up with having to sign in to forums each time my connection drops. "
I don't think that is IP address related, unless those forums are doing something to force you, because I can flip happily between various connections and never have to relogin on the few forums I use.
New Call telecom - no idea, best to see what others say about how long the IP addresses remain with that ISP. The majority of support will have no idea, because as I've pointed it should not be causing the problem you describe.

I didn't know forums logged you in by IP address?
Anyway, that apart, which Plusnet package are you on? Some of them you can have a fixed IP address for a one-off £5, which I did just so I can run the tbb BQM.
My broadband basic info/help site - www.robertos.me.uk | Domains,website and mail hosting - Tsohost.
Connection - Plusnet Extra Fibre (FTTC). Sync ~ 53.5/15.2Mbps @ 600m. - BQM

This isn't your broadband it's something to do with your machine. You should stay logged in regardless of IP

Odd because it doesn't happen when I have the same IP.
I'll start another thread on Primus, although have now found an email contact.

Unfortunately they don't offer that on my package. It would cost an extra £5 A MONTH, which I can't justify. I don't need a fixed IP anyway, just a sticky one.
