This isn't your broadband
Interesting. My server is on 24/7 and this workstation is rarely switched off.

To be honest this looks to be some weird security measure on the forums you are using.
e.g. does it happen on our forums, as we know that have nothing like this. Some websites do have auto log-out functionality that may make things behave this way, and it may also be your AV software that is clearing cookies when it detects a change of IP address.

In this case your IP should never change unless the broadband is unstable.
The issue is not the broadband. It's either 1) Your machine or 2) The forum you are using
This has already been said so I'm just repeating MrSaffron

OK. As it's outside this forum's subject area; I'll take the problem elsewhere, but thanks for the pointers.
Still like to know if anyone actually offers the "sticky" IP that is in the "questionnaire" though.

Correct. Plusnet's opinion is that my BB *is* stable, which is why I'm looking to change ISP.

O2 used to have very sticky IP addresses. That may change as the new network rolls out though.
I think ADSL24 IP addresses are all fixed. IDNet's definitely are.
As for it being outside this forum's subject area, I think you mean because you aren't getting the answers you wish to hear .
My broadband basic info/help site - www.robertos.me.uk | Domains,website and mail hosting - Tsohost.
Connection - Plusnet Extra Fibre (FTTC). Sync ~ 53.5/15.2Mbps @ 600m. - BQM

Not at all. Just don't want to clutter a BB forum up with PC problems.
Quite happy to talk further if mods don't mind.
Thanks for pointers on ADSL2 etc. but again aren't we drifting off subject? :b

For example looking at New Call Telecom Ltd, but they don't seem to have a contact us page on their website. Look harder .
