The HomeHub 3 will work in standard trim with Plusnet broadband.
Are you absolutely sure? I thought it was locked to BT, but not too difficult to unlock. I could very well be wrong though.

My broadband basic info/help site - www.robertos.me.uk | Domains,website and mail hosting - Tsohost.
Connection - Plusnet UnLim Fibre (FTTC). Sync ~ 54.2/15.2Mbps @ 600m. - BQM

Yes, 100% sure Bob. Used one unlocked when I was on Plusnet. I am sure it may be mentioned here somewhere, but if not, there is info confirming on the web. I think it applies to resold BT from several ISP's
HomeHub 2 works also. Had them both running on Post Office also, but had to unlock one for Enta.

I think the PN router will probably be fine on ADSLx. On FTTC its wireless won't connect fast enough, but I found it dealt well with my steel-framed house in terms of signal strength.

If you are taking the 12-month term for phone and broadband, I would take the router as well for the sake of the P & P.

If taking the monthly choice, I'm not sure what is best to do. If the HH3 isn't locked to BT then it seems sensible to just use that.

Found the BT HomeHub3 worked great wirelessly in my home with thick walls is Plusnet's router as good please?

Thinking of moving to save a bit of dosh is this false economy in your opinion please?

I'm on a Market 1 8Mbps exchange getting 7mbps.

thanks
Jamie

Ultimately, it is the "Luck of the Draw"!!

Some have had good service with PN but others, myself included, have found their Customer Service to be dire!

Can't comment on the PN Router, though.

Thanks everyone for all your input it is much appreciated.

Looks like PlusNet Unlimited BB & Phone (annual best for my budgeting)

I have the MAC but my BT contract and line rental is paid up until 24th April

What would be the best time to place the order with PN from your experience please?

I'm not sure of the answer to that. Trying to reduce the overlap to zero is risky, even when it's just the broadband you are moving.

I'd get on with it, as Openreach delays are very common at the moment. Apparently you get a few appointment times offered when you sign up online, and the first one on the list usually doesn't get confirmed anyway. (It must be a daily or something list from Openreach and the slot has already gone but that doesn't show up in real-time).

It seems Plusnet like to move the broadband first, then the phone line possibly up to three weeks later. I think that's daft. If it isn't acceptable I'd wait till Monday and try to get to speak to one of the "Digital Care Team", who should be able to organise things better than the normal routine. One of us here, or better - on the Community forums, can alert them to you on this thread and things can then proceed via PM.

The MAC itself is what has to be submitted (by the gaining ISP to Openreach) within the 30 days. It isn't necessary for the broadband migration to complete within it. Orders from ISP to Openreach normally go in the same day as the customer orders.
