The latest OfCom rules. The advertised speed for a product has to be attained by al least 10% of the customers using it.

If you look around, nearly all 24Mbps ones now show 16Mbps.

My broadband basic info/help site - www.robertos.me.uk | Domains,website and mail hosting - Tsohost.
Connection - Plusnet UnLim Fibre (FTTC). Sync ~ 54.2/15.2Mbps @ 600m. - BQM

You don't say whether you want phone packaged in. Only EE of the above insist you have your phone with them.

That's advertising! There's nowt stopping peeps discussing the true capabilities of the technologies.

We all know ADSL2+ is capable of 24 Meg given the right circumstances.

Advertising is about statistical samples, not individual capabilities.

Uh uh!

BT also insist on the line rental and a calls package being with them, except in a few exceptional cases where posters here claim to have avoided it through being in contract elsewhere.

Only PN of those three has no requirement for the line to be with them.

?
Did I say anything to the contrary? I didn't mean to.

I thought I merely answered the poster's question as to why no-one advertises 80/20 anymore.

The question is about Fibre. Do BT offer Infinity only to consumers who have phone elsewhere and who phone up to order? I don't think so.
