Just to update everyone, called up Sky and the guy told me they could only offer me free installation if I took Sky tv aswell. As I didnt want charged for installation I took their cheapest package which is Entertainment extra for 21.50 a month, all in is 56 quid with a free installation for both services for 12 months. I am happy enough with that, both services also getting activated on the same day aswell.smile

?
So to save whatever the installation charge is you have committed to spending £258 in the first year for something it hadn't occurred to you was worth having?

I'd recommend Sky every single time - you could always take Fibre Unlimited, see how you get on and if you want to upgrade to Fibre Pro, do so - Sky don't have any issue doing that for you.

I do notice the difference as I do a lot of uploading - whilst it's nice to get the odd download at a full 75-76 meg (realistic maximum) from time to time, it's more about the uploads for me (all legit, but many GB a week).

No Rob it wasnt a case of saving money for installation it was a case of not having the money to pay up front because of other things I had to buy.smile

Agents have x amount of offers a day
You may get an agent at first who's used all their offers up so can't give you a good deal
Hanging up and ringing back you might get someone with 10 offers left to give.

Is this true ?

That sounds hugely unfair, so the ability to get 'an offer' is a lottery ?
Surely this is dubious practice, what is offered to one of your punters must be offered to all.

I have heard that Sky has seriously cut back on retention offers in the last couple of years as a certain section of the customer base were ringing up threatening to cancel just to get a deal.

According to people I have spoken to Sky when I was trying to get my free box swap that the computer will show what offers and deals a customer will be offered and that may change per customer.

The reason they told me was that although I had a letter with a code with the box swap offer the computer wasn't showing the "deal" and they were unable to do anything until it showed which took a while after the letter arrived.
