Possibly if you took a no contract broadband deal and you gave the required notice to end that service then termination of the phone service would not be the cause of the broadband cease so a broadband cessation charge would not apply...
If that is the case, then I guess, one would have to first give notice about stopping the broadband before giving notice regarding terminating the line rental? Early termination of the line rental would still presumably carry the from £4.80 per month penalty for each of the remaining months of the line rental contract?

I know you asked for "broadband" but have you considered 3G? Do you need a landline? What sort of usage are you looking at.
It may be that one of the 3G data packages on www.three.co.uk with a MiFi dongle might do all you need and without needing to sign up to anything other than a 1 month rolling contract.
but i may need the usage a little bit more than mobile broadband
download large file, view plenty of youtube per day
online gaming and also i share the internet with my friend
so for usage per month i think it will require quite to much
(i guess 30-40 gb)
OK, yep - with that sort of usage... The only plan that I know of that could fit it is the One Plan from Three which allows tethering and "unlimited" (although not certain what the definition of unlimited is with this one but think people have used more than that) - but that might end up costing you more and not give the performance you need.
