Yes £14.99 per month is no longer really competitive - if 100GB per month usage, unmetered after 8pm and at weekends, is sufficient then you might also consider partial LLU on a 1 month minimum term with a different ISP (LLU reseller) - that's if your exchange is enabled. Monthly costs and activation charges will be similar or less.

In the end after all this I'm afraid I just went with the combined plus.net line rental and broadband package.

I noticed topcashback were doing a £70 cashback deal and it did track. So I threw away £60 of prepaid bt line rental but gained £70 cashback and with the first year of internet at half price I save £7.50 a month and avoid the £25 sign up fee compared with broadband only. So there we go. At least it puts off doing this again for 12 months.
