...... Tomorrow I'm going to have to download just short of 1TB of mainly broadcast quality videos in multiple formats to put onto a portable HDD to send to someone as a backup.
Hmm, so what your doing is downloading everything from iPlayer and sending it to somebody?
Oooh you're a cynical bunch.

besides the point. You've actually admitted that you are downloading and distributing stuff. I doubt these " Broadcast Quality Videos" are home videos. And as a backup to what? someone got a shoody internet connection and you send them HDD's to watch from?
Well, Maybe this should be reported to FACT - TBB will have your IP address and therefore FACT will have your ISP account and all your details. I download lots I admit but even I find this bit disturbing.

besides the point but the videos are for a bluechip client.
Anyone else looking forward to consuming GBs streaming the EPL in HD this weekend?

Oh but it is the point. Bluechip Client or not you need a PRS and a PPL licence if you are going to give videos to anyone and unless you have these you are copyright infringing. But you have been reported and FACT have had this thread as a reference. Up to them what they do
Well this thread escalated quickly! Starts out as me asking for advice on ISPs and ends with me being being reported to FACT lol.
At this point I guess I should retain legal counsel! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aCHB4GCyufE

In the OP there was no mention that this was for commercial use. Almost all provider's T&C do contain statements like
(a) Sky Broadband is for private use by you and members of your household only. It must not be used for any commercial or business purpose.
So while you may be confident that none of the materials you download is illegal, you would still be required to have a business contract rather than a home contract.
Maybe time to stop digging?

As far as I can tell there isn't a differentiation between resi. and business on the DR network in general or our particular ISPs ToS but anyway.
