And you now get two or three items a month with various speed test statistics for the providers, plus can do by area which I do for various regional news releases.

In reply to a post by nine:
help me in where to go, are bt infinity good, are virgin media good,
For BT you have to have a BT phone
For Virgin you have to have a Virgin phone or pay extra

Do you realise Virgin Media is a totally different technology?

It comes in underground and doesn't use your existing telephone line. There should be a small hole on the pavement outside your home.

They fish down in there for the line for your house, then connect some coax cable to bury from there to your wall where a box is fitted for wires into the house.

My broadband basic info/help site - www.robertos.me.uk. Domains, site and mail hosting - Tsohost.
Connection - Plusnet UnLim Fibre (FTTC). Sync ~ 60.0/17.0Mbps @ 600m. - IPv4BQM IPv6BQM

If the op was thinking of getting a FTTC via virgin, that ship has sailed because talk talk have bought virgin national ADSL AND FTTC over BT wires , they too would require your line as part of the deal just like Sky

I don't think there ever was VM (Openreach) FTTC.

Move the line to Sky, get fibre. Job done.

You will never find a good deal whilst keeping the line with BT, unless you choose BT broadband then it may work out cheaper.

Even virginmedia, they do not directly charge you line rental although they just bundle the price of their "line rental" in the broadband price they provide you. You are still paying for upkeep of the line as part of the cost of the broadband.

Call them again!

I have just 'signed' a new contract with them for broadband only @ £7.50 per month which is the same as I have been paying for the past 12 months.
