Re: Fibre only broadband?

But then the op is tied into a unreasonably long min term of 18mths ,and yes 18mths IMO is unreasonable for FTTC when ISP's are only held to 12mths max by BT openreach for new FTTC customers
And should the op end up with peak time performance issues , you know the ones that are still ongoing that plusnet have kept very shtum about , I seriously could not recommend plusnet to anyone

Also Plusnet's FTTC only is 40/2 and not the 40/10 product So if upload speed is important to the OP then this is pants even for £17.49 per month without line rental as for their 80/20 product @£22.49 , i used to pay £19.99 for and i didn't think it was worth paying that at times (peak time congestion)

As for vivaciti 's web site, I personally don't see an issue, The product headers describe each product none mention line rental , i doubt they should need to do. As you couldn't order a broadband product without already having an active line, why any supplier should need to specify that line rental isn't included i don't know,

Just because the big ISP's are after people switching their line rental to them, so they can sell the bb at a loss , doesn't mean that the smaller ISP's should follow suit,

Try reading my first few posts in this thread frown. You are simply duplicating them.

Plus, it is a requirement to make it clear in the main pages that a line is required and is not included in the price. Not hidden away in places like T & Cs or small print. That's why nearly all ISPs now make it obvious.

The fact that the ASA or Ofcom, whichever's rule that is, doesn't bother with tiny ISPs until they are reported doesn't mean the rule doesn't apply to them.

BTW the deal with Pulse8 for FTTC and line rental for£38.00 per month if this would mean MPF then i feel the op should be forewarned of the possible issues that can arise like the loss of telephone number ect

Well if i visit a ISP web site and start browsing their broadband products, any prices i see i would assume to be for broadband, unless they stipulate differently, also i do not need some notice saying that the advertised bb products need an active working telephone line
That's stating the obvious

Yes, but not everybody is as clever as you.

It's not about being clever is it, anyone with an ounce of common sense should be able to see what is included for the price shown, it ain't rocket science

If anything the biggest players are responsible to causing any confusion by selling bundled deals in the first place,

Hi,
I don't see how as line rental is not compulsory for any customer unlike a lot of other providers. Although our line rental is one of the cheapest at £11.40 per month.

Presumably it is compulsory that they have line rental with someone?

Ooops. A good point.

I hadn't thought of it that way.

Sorry blush.

And as such we do not have to list line rental, you would only need to list the line rental (and not in the small print) if they HAVE to take line rental with you if you have the broadband.
We do not require them to move their line rental to us.
