BB Only, ADSL/ADSL2+ recommendations?

Hi, my friend has just recently moved into a new place. Before she was with Virgin Media which were excellent (no issues), I've helped her to sign up with Plusnet. But they were absolutely terrible, took 10 days to tell me that they don't know which line goes to the apartment then they've told me an engineer will be out in 3 days, after 5 days whilst calling them and wasting 3 hours on the phone I found out that no engineer was logged (the line was dead/no signal)...

Unfortunately Virgin is not available under new address, so what alternatives would you people recommend? She's only interested in BroadBand unless the phone will have some sort of good offer for calls to EU countries.

Budget p/m: £25 (Seems resonable? I pay £27 for 100mb)

Please could you give us the exchange? It tells us which providers are available.

Is she a heavy user? Does the £25 include phone line rental? £15 for broadband doesn't buy much once the first few month deals run out.

Is the phone line to the appartment active now or not, when you plug a phone into the mastersocket/socket do you get a dialing tone?

There's no signal once you connect the phone.

She uses streaming services for TV channels and Netflix.

Looks like your friend would be needing a BB package with unlimited usage if she watches a lot of TV and Netflix especially if in HD.

What is the situation with Plusnet have you cancelled within the cooling off period?

Yes, within the cooling off period and got a full refund.

Next job - check the estimates for her address. If the ADSL2+ ones are high, that's fine. If low, so her streaming may be dodgy, is FTTC showing in the table? She can get that unlimited from TakTalk for £27.70pm including line rental. Their ADSL2+ is free but line rental of £17.70pm required.

I'm not necessarily recommending TT, but both my brother and a neighbour have been on it for years and no trouble. Even with their CS.

You didn't say before whether or not the £25 budget includes line rental .

Only ADSL available, 25 p/m inc. line rental.

Is that what the checker I gave you says, and what estimates?
