Would you mind telling us your exchange please, save me searching to see if you already have done?

Just to add my two penneth Bob - As you know, I was one of the early adopters to Pulse8 FTTC around a year ago. The first question I asked before joining was what service they resold. The answer was simple and the one I expected - BTW if your cab enabled, or TTB LLU if your exchange unbundled. As far as I know, most all ISPs have always been able to sell on BTW FTTC where it exists. My only worry about TTB LLU was losing my long held number should I migrate away, but I was persuaded that would not be a problem - As you know, problems usually find my service in one way or another, but glad to be back to a BTW based line.

It does, it's simply always been included in the FTTC price, which possibly puts Pulse8 ahead of the curve with regard to current legislation !

I don't what to tell you then. I can only speculate that Pulse8 choose not to do the £6 line rental with BTW fibre or that it requires a 12 month contract and that would go against Pulse8's philosophy and unique selling point.

Given their good reputation I certainly would consider a 12 month contact with Pulse8 as a means to reduce the higher cost due to lack of LLU, but if they don't offer that option there's nothing to think about.

Suspect that the £6 rental is related to a MPF service some how as that is more expensive than the wholesale cost where compared against WLR, it would be sold at a loss.

Line rental has always been included in the P8 FTTC price, which equates to the same £6 per month that is detailed in their ADSL2+ service. Also, no contract tie in for their FTTC - Been there and worn the T-shirt.

I had multi-room about 15 years ago and recently received a letter saying "Please come back to multi-room for half price for 6 months ( full price for following 6 months)"

Didn't take them up on the offer.

Was Eclipse Home Option 1, VM 2Mb & O2 Standard
Now Utility Warehouse (up to 16mbps) via Talk Talk

I just wanted to add something regarding Sky, and that's not to suggest you join them but to point out, if someone in the household, say a partner, takes out a new contract with Sky (having ensured the old contract is cancelled) then "technically" they are a new customer.

It's an awkward way to do things, but it is possible.

Just don't make it obvious to Sky.

Can't comment on Uno, but I've personally been with Cloudscape for the past 4 months.

They have been rock solid for me, I'm on full 80/20 sync and my download speeds are consistantly around 76mbit with 19 up (usually around 40-50 from my bedroom desktop but thats due to wifi distance from modem and not the connection) . Current ping time is around 14ms according to Speedtest (16ms on Think Broadbands speed test).
I haven't noticed any traffic throttling, certainly I've never had any issues streaming HD movies on my TV with Netflix at peak times anyways.

The one guy I did speak to on phone at the beginning seemed very polite and knowledgeable, thats the beauty of the smaller independents, better customer service.

I'm on their £30 per month FTTC (thats price inc VAT) with my line rental still with BT

This is unlimited, it is subject to a fair usage policy but, I really doubt you'll be exceeding that. When I look at my invoice breakdown, on the part which lists (unlimited) next to bandwiddth column it shows 999999MB.
In other words, their ulimited is roughly the equivalent of 1TB a month bandwidth usage, so unless you're constantly watching 4K 60FPS videos 24/7 I think you'll be just fine smile
