Which ISP for FTTC?

Wanting to move away from BT but not sure what my best options are?

Currently on Infinfty 1 (52Mb), BT TV and Anytime calls paying £45 including line rental. (Before the price rise) Looking to drop TV and the Anytime calling to save some cash.

Retention' offered £34.99 on a 24 months contact for BB only or £41 with the TV and no anytime calling.


Looked at EE, Plusnet, Sky etc, but unsure who might be the best? Quite heavy streaming/ gaming in the evenings, so want to avoid any heavy traffic management. (EE do have some tasty cashback deals atm)

Unfortunately my exchange hasn't got a talk-talk presence, but it does have SKY LLU.

Any ideas? Happy with the service from BT just no the constant price rises...

So you clearly already have an FTTC service, will TT (if that is your want) provide over that ?

Yes I do (Infinity 1).

TT wont as no LLU.

Sky or any other provider going over BT Wholesale will - just unsure who to go for as far as reliability and cost? EE are a possibility but the reviews aren't great?

depends on what speed your line can take mate, say your line can only achieve 60Mbps, your best bet is actually to stay with bt because other providers only offer 40/10 80/20 and its no good paying for the 80/20 if your line can only handle a small portion more than you get.

im with sky atm, just signed up and the latency is amazing, im getting 60/20 but thats only because of dlm because i turned router off a few times.

Plusnet only offer 80/20 or 40/2 (yes two) so be awarel if you choose them.

I go for it the ISP can only turn down your new broadband contract order.

From these stats am I right in thinking I should be able to get the 80/20 package (71ish down)?

Yes you should get a good speed plus you'll get the advantage of G.INP if your new router is broadcom-based rather than your HH5 Type A.
