Fibrenest

I'm in the process of buying a new build property with persimmon ; I've just received a letter from 'fibre nest' which describes itself as 'Persimmon's national communication supplier providing ultrafast, full fibre-to-the-home internet and voice services'

fibrenest website

Has anybody had any dealings with them? Are they any good?

Thanks

All of the Fibrenest company directors on companies house are based at "Persimmon House" - the same place as Persimmon. My guess is they are related to your builder. Their own site copyright says "Copyright 2018 © Persimmon Homes Ltd. All Rights Reserved". A check on at least one name shows them as being a secretary of both Persimmon and FibreNest.

My guess is Persimmon have setup their own ISP to provide Fibre to their own properties. Not clear on whether they own the wholesale fibre network or are using a third party installer to put it in.

It appears to be non-Openreach based FTTP. I'm guessing using the CityFibre network.

FibreNest Ltd is a private company wholly owned by Persimmon.

I would expect you have no choice. Except of what speed you choose.

My broadband basic info/help site - www.robertos.me.uk. Domains, site and mail hosting - Tsohost.
Connection - AAISP Home::1 80/20. 200GB. Sync 67055/12482Kbps @ 600m. BQMs - IPv4 & IPv6

I got interrupted by a phone call Ian smile. To add to what you post, the original name of the company was "Persimmon GR (No 5)", which was change to FibreNest on 17 August 2017.

Incorporated in 2009, by Persimmon.

I'd suggest taking a postcode that FibreNest serve and check with DIrectSaveTelecom, it maybe it is that network.

NOTE: Some of these more closed networks exist on estates where things like satellite dishes are not allowed, so you can find yourself tied in

The price for the telephone service and calls looks very expensive if you already have a broadband service. It would be much cheaper to have a VOIP service such as Sipgate.

Presumably neither the broadband or the phone will work in a power cut, even for a short period.

The website shows figures like 20Mb which I presume should be 20Mbps. I can't say that I find the website encouraging but you may have little choice.
