Sky FTTP

Just wondering how people on Sky's FTTP are finding the service?
I am tempted to move from iDNet to Sky to get rid of pppoe issues with my UDM and go onto the 900mb package but I thought I would ask how people were finding it first.

Those I know who have Sky FTTP are extremely happy with it (using the billy basic supplied router), but I am sure there will be people out there with Sky horror stories. Sky have over 6 million customers so there is always going to be differences of opinions on them. I have no idea how their support stacks up when there is an issue compared to iDNet.

Thanks, I have no problems with iDNet to be honest over the PPPoE issue which is a pain.

As long as you don't need or want a static IP, I would expect Sky to be fine. Sky also provides IPv6. End-of-contract price hikes aren't as high as some providers.

Just out of curiosity, what is the PPPoE issue you have with iDNet?

My UDM-SE has pretty big performance issues with IPv6 and pppoe to be honest. I improved IPv4 on the SE using a SFP to ethernet module but IPv6 is trashed.

I was on Sky as FTTC before and had no issues and other than Sky only TalkTalk dont use PPPoE.

Ah, gotcha. Surprised to hear about the IPv6 issues but a fair number of OSes have single-threaded PPPoE implementations, so that's not completely surprising.
