No issues with BT FTTP

From our completely flawless experience of a year with Giganet over CityFibre (download speed always advertised at 150Mbps+, upload actually 540Mbps) I can heartily recommend them. Not the cheapest ISP out there but we've found them to be a high quality provider. On CityFibre the other ISPs that I would consider include A&A, Zen and IDNet (A&A have a great reputation in particular, but I'm not sure whether I'd want their data cap).

Good point will try to factor that in, thank you.

Forgot about that, but yes, you have to look at that, but the majority will do that.
If there is an Alt net where you are, then have a look at that, they may offer more for your money.

No altnets available, just looking at ISP's through the Openreach network.

If openreach are first to be available then I’ll likely go with talktalk to get some eero pro’s.

If Nexfibre get here then I’ll be with Virgin Media and have whatever hub they offer.

I have been with Andrews & Arnold since 2007 with ADSL Max >> FTTC >> VoIP with Renumber and Export >> finally FTTP on July 31st this year.

Any queries, just phone, their staff answer in seconds and don't use scripts. I have never been disappointed.

That is a shame. If you're bothered about price, then you need to take that into account, but as been said, the majority will increase the price in the contract. I know what it is like changing providers, that is one of the reason I stayed with Plusnet for years, because they offered a good service for the price. A shame to leave in one way, but that is the way things go. You do or are suppose to get better customer service from the smaller providers, like Zen, but not always.
You make your choice and take your chances, but i don;lt like this thing of 24 months contracts that have popped up again.

The whole thing about 'best' or 'most trusted' provider get blown out of all proportion, truth is they are all much the same apart from price.

Look at this list of providers listed on the Ofcom site and see the amount of complaints per 100,000 customers and in reality they all do a pretty good job.

I've been with talktalk since the start as have my son and daughter, my son moved home twice and my daughter six times and never had a problem with the moves and between us over the years we've had no major issues and any minor niggles were quickly resolved but to hear some talk you'd imagine having a talktalk account was a living nightmare.

Speaking only from personal experience I'd say talktalk.

I would agree wholeheartedly with this comment having had Giganet as my first FTTP provider since October last year. No issues, solid ISP. However, I'm moving to Zen about to place an order with them. Why? For the same money (£32.month), you can have symmetric 300Mbps on Cityfibre with Zen. I tried to negotiate with Giganet, but they refuse to contemplate any discount or change. (took me over 2 weeks to even get a response to my ticket, and that was only because I tweeted to their Twitter tag to get them to look and respond ) That's not good customer service in my book.

So, I'm off. Zen assured me that they can manage the Cityfibre transfer in lieu of the OTS not yet in place until March 2024. Hopefully I won't lose my connection for more than a day, (Zen indicated sameday) but I have backup 4G router in that case.

Talktalk are fine. I had almost troublefree service for 10 years until last year when I moved to Giganet, only because I wanted to separate my Voice and Broadband, so had Giganet installed, and then ceased my line by transferring the number to A&A's Voip service.
