Anybody had any experience of this ISP

I'm looking for somewhere to migrate my mother to, when Plusnet tell her she can no longer have a voice service with them.

They seem attractive, about 35 quid/month for 38 Meg broadband and a phone package that would suit her calling patterns. And just a 30 day contract.

I'm just wondering what router do they supply, and how do they deal with their VoIP provision.
A router with a phone port (a la BT Hub etc) or a separate ATA ?

Can't seem to find that detail in their FAQs ?

According to this if you look at the FAQ's at the bottom for "Digital Voice Telephone plan information" and Fibre Broadband plus PAYG phone line, it states "We can move your existing telephone line number, or you can have a nice new number. Then all you do is plug your telephone handset into the router we send...simple...
A Basic PAYG phone service is a pay as you call service, and the line rental is included in the monthly broadband cost. If you do not wish to use the telephone service or move your telephone number, we can switch the service off remotely for you." - SO yes it's via a router.

The subject of what to do is discussed here on thePlusnet forum.

The PSTN will stop at the end of 2025. If you want a landline phone after that you could port the number to a VOIP provider such as Voipfone or A&A. and there would need to be a broadband connection and VOIP hardware connected to the router.

Yes, thanks I'm very aware of all of that.

I really don't want to be faffing about with a VOIP supplier. My mum's 93, I just want to move her from Plusnet to another ISP who has a digital voice product. I'll be rewiring her extension network to the phone port of the router.

Digital Voice is what BT call their VOIP service.for which your would have to use their router (hub).

A&A is an ISP that provide both broadband and VOIP.
