Can I recover files from the emptied recycle bin?

[link to this post]

Windows XP Pro here.
I dropped some files into my Recycle bin and then right-clicked the bin and selected to empty it.

Now I wish to recover those files!

Can anybody please tell me if it's possible to recover those files and if so how?

Many thanks

Might work. File recovery is a gamble.

I'm sure there are tools to do so which someone will post here.

All I want to say is your chances will be much improved if you stop using that drive until you have the tools to hand.

Indeed, and if the hard drive is near full even moreso!

Yes, but don't save any files or add any new programmes to your machine, as your computer may overwrite the files you wish to recover. I use SoftPerfect File Recovery, plus there are loads of other file recovery programmes. You run the recovery programme from a pen drive/floppy drive.

If the files are very very important consider using professional data recovery, as there is always risks involved in recovering files.
