De install IE7

I have a new PC with Internet Explorer 7 preinstalled and have been having probs I am certain are IE7 related. Is it possible to de install IE 7 ?

not easily. Microsoft won't let you go backwards in versions and you cannot properly remove internet explorer.

You could try Firefox.

Not as easy as that. A prerequisite of many applications Iwe use is IE 6 minimum

It might be worth trying with an alternate browser. Most web-sites aren't so picky. What sort of applications reject non-IE browsers?

Opera (and probably Firefox) can be configured to say they are whatever browser the other end wants to hear. With a quick download you would have a second opinion.

If IE7 is installed on a PC with IE6 in place then you can uninstall IE7 and go back to IE6, equally you can use System Restore to take you back to before IE7 was installed.

However IE7 is great so best to find what the issues are with and solve them so you can use it.

have another PC (same model/spec) with IE 6 where I dont have a problem.

As I say it came preinstalled on a new PC so nothing to restore to. I like IE7 but I have a couple of Work related applications that pre date IE7 (AutoCAD & Document manager software) that are fine most of the time.
