I'm kinda missing the point (I know, to appease draconian EU stupidity re monopolies) IE isn't forced on anyone...I use it once on each build...to downoad firefox....and nowadays I don't even bother with that once as I have most "essentials" on a usb drive.
....now, a car radio with radio 1 removed...that I'd buy! smile

Hopefully they'll also allow Firefox etc. to use the Windows Update website, rather than insisting you use IE or at least IE Tab...

Yep, Vista uses its own front end i.e. installed on the machine was Windows Update.

They should really add in a wizard to configure which browser you want - at install time.

Most naive users run with whatever OS config comes with the computer out of the box. Those who want to use a different browser already know how to do so easily. Not sure an installation wizard is of help to either group.

My god, is it really so hard to choose an icon to click on ? It is possible to have more than one browser installed, and all you have to do is choose ! You can even say which one is the default.
