VML is a microsoft only thing, no other browsers use it and it isn't part of the standards. So again, a badl written website using IE only code. They could of done that site with simple css.

Yes seriously, go back 10 years ago, do we look into the crystal ball and code the website so it looks good in 10 years time to the (still minority) firefox user which is visitng the site, or make it to please the 98% IE/netscape userbase at the current time. Hmm!

and Yes, for the majority of its lifespan, FF2 didn't render acid2 test till (i think) the very last two releases, only a few months before FF3 was released.

I know. And IE still doesn't do it. Only IE8 does it, but it still fails Acid3. IE is considerably behind the other browsers. What's your point with all this?

They should really add in a wizard to configure which browser you want - at install time.

Allowing a user to remove IE is a great step forward, including a buch of browsers to choose from a setup is adding more so-called 'bloat' to an OS that a lot of people consider Bloated (I don't).

MS should never have to include other companies browsers, thats just insane. OEMs might be forced to install them, but isn't that adding more bloat?

Isn't the whole point of an OS like Windows the fact that the different modules of it integrate with each other ? I can copy off a Word document and paste it into an email in Outlook. I can click on a URL in IE in an email and open it in Explorer.

Of course, other companies will write software for Windows which attempts to integrate itself, but the results can be rather hit and miss.

If people hate Microsoft so much (and it's very evident that a lot of people do), then why buy Windows at all ? Why not get Linux ? Then you can spend the rest of your life trying to get software written for the most popular OS to work properly on it.

I've seen a few which refuse to work with IE, because the designer thought it 'cool' to insist that people use non-IE browsers, as an anti-IE stance.

Um, in what way though? Maybe it's just cause the site uses stuff that IE doesn't render properly, as shown on the acid tests. That's not the designers fault.

It might be okay in a corporate environment where you control your user's browser. But on the internet? You're excluding 90% of your potential audience for a cause that >99% of people don't give a damn about.
