Thunderbird vs Outlook 2007

What email client do you all use?

I am thinking of switching to Outlook from thunderbird because of lack of functionality, any suggestions?

(edited - because people think that because software is free, you cannot criticise it)

So you are blaming a freebie piece of software rather than a hosting service you are probably paying for.

You damn right I am - it has been a known thunderbird bug for 9 years now, and a fairly important one i'd say - do you really expect me to take the "oh because its free I cannot complain" attitude??

That was the afterthought I had. You beat me to it.

I was actually asking, as I wrote in the first line, what everyone used here so I could get a measure of the general concenus, and also in the last line, are there any features I might miss if I switch to outlook. I was not complaining as such - I was giving my reason for asking the question.

Bugs like that are not acceptable in my opinion.

So gomezz and Winston - do you both use thunderbird?

Yes I do. Yes I would find that an annoying thing to happen but I never use that forward in filter feature. Haven't used Outlook for email since I left my last job five years ago so it is hard to say what I would miss if I switched. Still use Outlook for calendar and address book functionality mainly because it syncs easily with my mobile and PDA.

I use both Outlook 2007 and Thunderbird.

Thunderbird is a great basic email client, but Outlook does beat it hands down for functionality. Never had a problem with either, although Outlook can be a little slow to start and search sometimes, but that's probably more network congestion than the actual program as it's connected to a domain.

You know you can get lightning for thunderbird don't you? It's kind of bloated though.

OT; Thunderbird is rapidly falling behind in terms of features atm. There don't seem to be very many updates for it, unlike with FF.
