merging excel into word

[link to this post]

Hi all

I am trying to merge excel into word which seems to work fine with some of the figures but other figures end up with extra decimal.

Have tried changing the format in excel and still no joy.

Any ideas please?

Thank you.

Of course it depends what you are trying to do and how you are trying to do it .....

If the Word "Insert Excel Spreadsheet" function is causing problems, try playing around with something like .....

Copy the excel cells you want to copy to the clipboard (normal select and copy functions). Then in Word select "edit" then try either "paste cells" or try "paste special".

In Paste Special try the different options and see what gives the best results, RTF format seemed to work ok in a quick test.

Sorry - trial and error - but that's Microsoft at times.

p.s. I'm using Office 2000 so obviously can't gaurentee that the above will work with later versions.

Sorted, used the formatting switch \# in the merge field in word.
