CD ripper

Times change, no CD player in new car so will need to transfer files from CDs to PC and then onto a SD card, any recomendations for a free to use CD ripper capable of running on Windows 8.1?

Why not use the cd ripper in windows media player?

Does your car radio support bluetooth streaming (aka A2DP)? If it does then you could just stream from your phone. Burn the CD's to MP3 & create a playlist on your phone. This is what I do in my car except I have a bluetooth dongle that plugs into the AUX port on my radio as it doesn't support bluetooth natively but it gets the job done.

Alternatively I have ripped copy of my CD library to a USB memory button which is plugged into the car radio. Being button style means it is not susceptible to being knocked as would a USB memory stick would.

I also have copies of my music on my laptop (in FLAC and MP3 formats as the master copies) my Android tablet (FLAC for best quality playback through my hi-fi) and my smartphone and PMP in MP3 format for listening to when out and about (there are several advantages to using a separate PMP rather than my smartphone).

JetAudio is really good.

I've used dBpoweramp for years - works very well and does the art download as well.

Thanks for all the suggestions, so far I have been trying out Windows Media Player and jetAudio both of which I find easy to use.

windows media player will do the job.

Just one thing, windows 10 is a still a free update if you want to update your Windows 8.1 machine to it.

I know i'm late but CDex, free, portable and nice and easy to learn best of all quality of rips are first rate IMHO.
