Messenger App

I just updated my Windows Messenger App which I use to keep in touch with friends. But depending on how my Windows feels it will crash on opening. I can reboot and on the next boot it will work fine. Next boot crashes on startup, but doesn't appear to be a pattern to it.

I have googled for fixes one included using CCleaner's registry cleaner which fixed it for next boot but the boot after that back to crashing.

Has anyone found a permanent fix?

Not aware that Windows has a messenger app unless you are talking Skype? Otherwise I assume it is an app you have installed in which case we would need to know what app.
