Recovery Disc

[link to this post]

Using MS Backup, the one thing it won't let me do is "Back up Everything, including making a system recovery disk". I can use the other backup functions, but it seems to want to create a recovery diskette on a floppy - how can I do that without a floppy drive, or on a CD/DVD as it will not let me access those drives? Obviously a sytem recovery is ideal if the original HD gives up.

I believe that MSBackup system recovery disk only works with XP Pro and not XP Home.

thats a bummer - why don't they have one for XP home - there must be hundreds of thousands f PC's with manufacturer installed XP that does not have a restore CD. Does this mean I've got to get a new XP Home Edition?

Just use some software like acronis true image to take a image of your drive.

If you don't want to part with any cash, depending on your morals it can be found for free if you know where to look.

It can be found for free whatever your morals. Whether you choose to download and use it for free is another story.
