IE 8 and Error 400

Hi,

I'm running vista with IE8. I can't get more than a couple of pages into a site before I get page can't be displayed messages and error HTTP 400. I've checked as much as I cna and see that a likely cause of this is malware is viruses. I've run Malware bytes, Super Anti Spyware and ESET AV scans. These scans show my machine as clear.

Have cleared out all old programs and cleaned the registry with CCleaner. Have cleared out all old cookies and also cleared the DNS resolver cache.

Can anyone else give me any ideas to try. This is driving me bonkers.

Believe Alistair. Firefox will eat IE8 alive. There is no contest for fast easy surfing.

Especially if you like clunky cookie management.

Thanks very much for the suggestion, but I really want to try and fix this. There must be a way.

For me, installing another program to do the same job would be keeping the same issue but sidestepping it. Anyone any ideas on how to fix IE.

BTW - I use opera on my laptop and I do like it, never been a great fan of firefox though, don't know why.

A bit of a long shot but have you tried another DNS server to see/eliminate if the problem is something to do with your ISP's?

Brilliant, many thanks indeed. It appears that somebody had manually set the DNS settings rather than left them at auto. Now I've put them back to auto it works perfectly. I really appreciate your help and suggestion and am very grateful.
