Did you investigate:
John:
Can you configure it to 'leave a copy on the server', then just configure another account to access the server a couple of minutes after the user? Might have to think about how long is too long. You wouldn't want new mail hitting the server, and being taken straight to the second account.
Sorry, the discussion got diverted onto IMAP, rather than my original request.
However to clarify what I do on my own account (using Thunderbird):-
a) Set up a totally separate, but hidden Email A/c (e.g.
[email protected])
b) Set up TB to automatically create a bcc using the Copy-Sent address.
c) Set up TB NOT to save sent messages.
d) Set up a script so that any received Copy-Sent Messages are transferred to the SENT-Box.
e) Configure TB to leave messages (both "normal" & Copy-Sent accounts) on the Server for upto to 30 days.
Providing that I use every one of my PCs within a 30 day period (chosen to cover holidays etc), then automatically I receive a copy of every incoming Emails to EACH PC/Lappy - but I also receive a copy of EACH outgoing email into EACH Sent-Box.
As you can see the Key requirement is to be able to set up the automatic bcc - which is easy in TB, but unable to do it within Win-Live!
Notes:-
1) the reason why it needs to be a bcc is to prevent it becoming "known" &, hence, prevent my SENT-Box from receiving spam or Reply-All responses, etc.
2) The time duration held on the Server is a compromise to not over-loading the Server but, equally, allowing sufficient time to cover things such as holidays.
3) The above address example is not a valid address (obviously).
