Ta again for all your interesting posts. From what you wrote this seems to be connected with porting emails across from that awful btyahoo site to outlook.

initially it happened spasmodically but with persistence (aka bloodymindedly repeating the password) I managed to get through. Erin Dors has two btyahoo email a/cs as well and she had the same prob. Why only on one of the a/cs (our secondary ones)?

Yesterday it just didn't want to know. Hence my plea for help. For no very good reason I powered down and rebooted the bt homehub and it seems to have woken up OK at present, on a different IP address. No confidence for the future though.

Hello

Would the home hub reboot do it, would not think so. Must be an undate of the outlook so us or email server.

Have you tried changing the settings on the account in outlook like suggested. It still works and might do the trick. Happens every now and then, not a massive problem to be so computer at fault?. Who knows.

Do the changing incoming / outgoing server in the TOOLS/ account settings on the program and try.

I got the bt infinity and at 38Mbs is full speed and me happy. just this odness with the email to the btinernet address is a bit anoying. What I have done might work, we will see. Might sort it's self out if them not us and gets sorted at the other end.

Just a BT address and not doing all the rubbish by logging into a web site and doing email that way.

Outlook express (in windows 98 and up through 2000. Millenium (cra*) and XP. not over complicated Office outlook for windows 7. Did use the windows live mail but never liked so used the office program as there instead.

Hopefull what ever it is it gets sorted by microsoft update if computer or something at server in a building somewhere if BT yahoo.

Computers, designed to stress and waste our time!.

Hello

Been doing it again tonight really bad and making me shout and swear and at the point of wanting to throw the [censored] computer out the window!.

Thought can I forward the email to the googlemail one and so pick up the bt emails on that.
Went into the yahoo mail web page and it loads a few emails ( why anyone would want to to email on web page based stuff, god knows!. horrible and slow). To the point, found that in options on the accound web email page and it did not show up as an confirmation email on gmail so tried again, Nothing.

Did the help pages and they are good, outlook express and other program fault codes and subjects like why do I keep getting password error message and things like that.

Spot on. Needs the enhanced yahoo email for POP ( outlook or other email client) and email forwarding to other address, so explains why email never came not 20 minutes ago and we both get the password thing.

I think they let it work so long, feel you now like using what ever email client program and after so long make it play up and gets to a point of unusable.

Is $19.99 I think when bought up the upgrade tab.

Will do and have it done with.
Was going to get aroiund by the email forwarding thing on web mail OPTIONS tab but they got that covered and no going us that like the yahoo fro free. Spend $19 a year is the way or change accounts email contact details and friend need to know, (a new email address of a google mail one). To much hard work so going to pay my money and have it done with. A job for the next 10 minutes.

So go to BT, and be forced to pay to use email the best friendly eay on outlook (CON!).

Just done using paypal as nicer than the creadit card and quicker.

So $19.99 year as auto renews and email striaght to the googlemail forwarding address I could not set up before paying.

Loose the bt email or pay is the point I think.

All going again and if outlook brings up the password box then computer will be flying out the window I think. On 9 hours a week so £56.72 a week and now just lost some of that this week to use my email.

Big [censored] con.

ok got no where last night after paying my $19.99 so whAT i THOUGHT WAS nothing.
tried again messing around for last 30 minutes as a few test emails last night from gmail account did not turn up to that own account as did the yahoo options things of email forwarding.

did work thismorning as confirmation email arrived straight away after 10 seconds.

Ignored and went back to the pop setting so get on outlook (all there on web mail page, options). When ticked in the circle what you want go to another option then a box flags up as changes made and log out, job done.

So to the original problem of email account not working as password problem, it does on the free account, now mail plus account for my money will go.

Looks like it takes time so do at night before bed and set up pop in the morning.
Thiis is what you want and have done but now playing up as I found but looks like normal until $19.99 is paid. CON.

See how it goes now.
Can cancel it and if it plays me up I will go through many accounts an change email address and say to what few friends I have to use thre gmail one.
I can go without. Not spending money if it does not work. Good old BT.

So just tried again and still bringing up the password box and sure it was the account not being the premium one and so needed money. Now fed up with it all and going to get the refund and move onto gmail. Free and it works. Not worth the stress anymore.

BT yahoo mail. A load of SHI*.

enough said.

Now off to work to try and get some money back I wasted last night. Will do the refund thing later.

Cancelled. $19.99 saved and now thisafternoon hours of time wasted ( so more then like last night and today) changing email and that on many accounts from paypal, ebay, amazon, you get the idea. Hours of fun.

Useless BT email. Not worth it.
