Upgrade configuration?

[link to this post]

I am about to install two 4GB memory modules into my Dell Studio 1558 (to replace two 2GB ones). I got them from Crucial (strong recommendation, by the way) and the little instruction leaflet tells me that I might be prompted to update my computer's configuration when I re-boot. What exactly will that entail if I have to do it? I didn't need to when I've updated older laptops, so how common is it?

Uncommon, applies probably more to servers etc. It's just a standard leaflet they put in.

i.e., when you next boot up the system the BIOS might stop and display a warning that it has detected a memory configuration change, press F1 to continue..

But is it easy to do if it does happen?

The hardest part was getting the cover off the memory modules underneath the laptop. Resisted the temptation to stick a screwdriver in there and prise it off! Thanks for the help.
