The lack of OS detection isn't like Mozilla... This being a windows forum should be a clue.
Possibly, for the gullible. I doubt if Mozilla would take more notice of the referrer link than of the OS in the request header.

Obviously too hard for MAC users. Anyway, I'm sure it will be on the Moz homepage later on today.

Is Javascript enabled, as John found earlier?
Yup...... And no other similar Java related links are affected.

Anyway, I'm sure it will be on the Moz homepage later on today. Possibly, a bit of Googling indicates that FF13 is real enough, but I'm still not happy about that particular page: Operating Systems: Linux, Mac OS X, Windows 2000, Windows 7 (32 bit), Windows 7 (64 bit), Windows Vista (32 bit), Windows Vista (64 bit), Windows XP My bold.
eta- I see you've deleted your link... 5km's post takes me to a page that correctly identifies my OS, I'm happier with that one.

I'm not willing to get into a discussion about how the web works but the presence of "&os=win&" in the URL indicates to me that it will download the Windows version, nothing else, regardless of whatever OS originates the request.

To be fair, this is the Windows forum and BatBoy linked to the Windows download.

There appear to be some links to other operating systems version here, but they may be spoof sites http://www.theregister.co.uk/2012/06/04/firefox_13/

Fair enough, I hadn't spotted that, good to see you being as helpful as ever. (My address bar doesn't show the full URL, only the "site" part, unless I deliberately expand it and I hadn't- my bad )
OK, so I was being more paranoid than usual, but better that way than excessively trustful

No worries, anyway the Reg article was updated to say it's still in testing, so probably best not to download it at the moment.

I might give it a try when it's properly released... I've always found FF to be rather "clunky" and lacking in facilities that I like * compared to Opera (cba'd with add-ons, sorry Mick ).
Maybe this one will be better.
* the emphasis is on "I", others have their own preferences of course.
