Um! That all looks good!
Need to see same when PC can't connect but we can't cuz PC frozen.
Does problem also occur when PC started with router ON, but router disconned from phone socket?
Does problem also occur when PC started in Safe Mode with Networking (press F8 repeatedly during initial boot when you have a blank screen) with router ON?
Look in the router's Web interface for its DHCP section. What does it say?
When problem occurs, do you have another PC to look at router's Web interface for a section like Local Network or Connected Devices that shows what devices are connected to router and their IP addys?
I'm clutching at straws LOL!
Thanks for your further suggestions - I will have to try these Tomorrow Evening [Now 01:40 here in London] - I will post the Results then - IF I cannot carry out these Tests Tomorrow please don`t think that I don`t appreciate Your Help - it would be because of Working late.
I would then try the suggestions on Saturday - Thanks again.
Chris

I don't think powering off PC using the Power Button is much risk if the PC is completely locked and not doing anything (and you have no choice). It's only a problem when this is used while the PC is active and might be writing to its disk, so causing potential disk corruption. You could keep an eye on the Disk light before doing it.
Have you ever left the PC in its frozen state for a long time to see if it ever recovers? BUT unlike many People who are Computer Literate I would NOT be able to `Repair` anything that was any more complicated than `Restore to previously known Good Configuration` ! That's more than I've ever done!

Well done! I think you have now mastered the Command Prompt and copying and pasting from it
I WISH I had mastered it !
I mentioned that I tried `Mark` - `Copy` etc. - before `Accidentally` being able to Paste the Results on here - I had already tried Copy and Paste without success before I asked how to get the Results Posted here.
I will practice scopio`s instructions to try and get to know how to Copy and Use the Results from Command Prompt - I assume that there is a reason why `Copy & Paste` does not work on the Command Prompt Results display ?
Thanks again,
Chris

"Hello",
I am always worried that because the Computer seems to have NOT Started Up completely - Because of the described problem - that I am Powering Off before the Computer has Started Up and that this will then cause a further problem when Powered Off and then Started Up using the `Computer failed to correctly Shut Down` [words close to that] Start Up process.
Computer failed to correctly Shut Down suggests to Me that perhaps it Failed to correctly Start Up - although I know that this does NOT necessarily follow.
I have left the Computer `Frozen` in the state that I previously described for Hours - just to see IF the Internet Accessing / Start Up problem EVER completed - it did not.
Where would I find the Disk Light - so that I could see if the Computer was writing to a Dosk before Poering it Off ?
Thanks.
Chris

Command Prompt is based on the old DOS which did not have Copy-and-Paste so they built this on top of it.

Where would I find the Disk Light Usually near the Power Button. It's a blue flashing LED on mine. Look in the handbook.

Win7 is a mule when it comes to networking issues
I don`t turn off the Power TO the Router I just Turn it Off by using the Power Button - is that the same thing ? Yep, as far as I know, both result in a cold restart.
Numerous normal shut downs and restarts of the pc shouldn't cause any problems, Win7 normally allows background processes to cease before shutting down, unless you force a shut down which is best avoided.

Having said I'm not remotely qualified to help with your pc/router problem, has it been suggested to try and connect the router to another pc/laptop running Windows 7, as your pc is, and see if the problem manifests itself in another pc?
Just a suggestion to eliminate if it is a pc or router fault!
Hello - I did mention in an earlier Post that I have tried the Router by using a Laptop which is also using Windows 7 Home Premium - albeit that Laptops use the `64 Bit` version [ My PC has the 32 Bit version] - the Laptop started up as normal - no problem at all.
I know that this has become quite a Long Winded Subject - I am not stating that You should have seen My comment about using the Laptop - that would be easy to miss with all that has been written about this problem.
Thanks for the suggestion - I appreciate your interest and Help.

Thanks - I was highlighting the Text first - as You would do in Copy & Paste - then clicking onto `Mark` etc.
When I accidentally got it right I must have highlighted the Text again after clicking on `Mark` - then going back to the Forum I would have positioned the Curser / Type Start point and then Clicked onto `Paste`.
Thanks again,
Chris

I have NO obvious Lights on My Acer Computer - other than the Power On Light - I will look in the Handbook [Downloaded] when I get time - But I definitely don`t have any Light that illuminates at certain times / because of certain processes running - I would have noticed this in the 3 Years that I have had the Computer.
Thanks,
Chris
