how to block adverts

My laptop is win 7. I removed all names from control panel..security etc.However I still get adverts on websites. What can I do to remove all irritating adverts ?

What adverts as such? Embedded ones or crazy popups etc?

If the former -- perhaps it is just the website? You can use tools such as adblock to stop it

Latter? Scan for malware - MalwareBytes, SuperAntiSpyware, Antivirus program, Spybot Search and Destroy..

I imported that list to the anti-banner side of my security package. Works well.
