Think I got it sorted
Uninstalled all nvidia drivers
ran driver sweeper
ran ccleaner reg cleaner
uninstalled PCI bus and PCI to ISA in Device Manager
ran winsockfix
reinstalled everything
and it seems OK so far........

steller, and now after the sleep (you did post at 3am in the morning) you can now use the pc again....
