Re: Can't get iPlayer to work on either Chrome or IE9

Hi TLM,

This discussion seems to have gone quiet but I thought I'd join in just un case there is some more help out there. I am having exactly the same problems. My iPlayer Desktop was working fine with IE9 to download programmes (some playback problems but that's another story) but I was generally dissatisfied with IE9 - very slow, tendency to crash - to I switched my default browser to Chrome. Big improvement until I tried to download to iPlayer. Like you it insisted I had to install the Desktop so I followed the iPlayer Help advice and reverted to IE9 which had now become incredibly slow, and either crashed or tried to install Desktop when I tried to download.

One of the contributors suggested using Firefox which I have now installed as well but that won't download either but also says I have to install the Desktop.

Have you or anyone a more up-to-date solution?!

Driving me crazy (and wasting my time!)

Worked fines with me for all versions of Firefox. Have you tried flushing the IE9 cache and deleting all the temp files? I have never really used IE.
