The NATIVE email supplied with Windows 8 only supports IMAP or EAS.
Accessing POP3 requires the use of a.n. other mail client, such as Gmail, Hotmail, the new Outlook.com, Windows Live etc..
Using an additional mail client does not constitute "native" support.
