luckily for Vista and 7 MS provide some good tools to sort these problems out if it persists. Try SFC in the meantime anyhow.

Having a read, seems updating IRRT Driver for here has worked for some.

Don't you need the Windows installation disc handy if running SFC.EXE /SCANNOW?

The OP installed the OS on the new drive from an image though - that could be causing the problem...

In XP sometimes, Vista and above usually you don't need the DVD, unless your installation is really screwed.

Yes I have needed the disc a few times with XP machines, but I've never used Vista and with Win7 scannow has never been required.

Sfc completed. Stated some files were repaired, details in cbs.log. Can't find the log frown
